So we are not even into the second month of 2021, and I have had three fabulous new doggies join me at LHH. I am struggling with the pandemic and the lockdown on a personal level but I feel we are going to get out of this, with the vaccine, new clients, new beginnings pandemic getting under control, positive vibes only !
Lara is a very sweet Parsons Jack Russel, so just before xmas last year Lara was due to join us on. Friday morning, I kind of knew her met her a few times on walks, I was recommended to them from one of my clients I their friend. She is young dog only just turned a year old, typical terrier, anyway I love love LOVE Lara. She has been great addition, its a bit of rowdy crowd on Friday morning but I feel like they all cancel each other out, they all love that walk and I am enjoying that my Friday has picked up use to be my quietest day !!! So welcome to little happy hounds Lara you are lovely !
So my Lara enquiry also came via the same rout with my new girl Poppy !!! They heard about me via one of clients, Poppy just turned a year old mid January just before I started walking her, I think ever since I have been a dog walker I have wanted to walk a miniature poodle and she is so lovely, she cries in the car on the way to walk as she is so excited to be with her friends, she is tiny proper stream line and she is so confident love Poppy !! Her recall is great !!!
My new cavapoo puppy Ruby, so I love LOVE the cavapoo mix breed, I walked a lovely cavapoo for many years, so I love them and Ruby is no disappointment, she is only just coming up to three months old she is now vaccinated so this week I am starting to do some socialising and recall training with her, its been very unconventional as I did her puppy visit last few weeks in her garden with her owner either their or in the house she is retired and she wants her puppy to have some independence away from her which makes sense to me, I am use to doing puppy visits while people are out at work, but this has been great as she is in so she has been very flexible with time, so I can bond with Ruby help with training and in a few months time she will join one of my walking groups twice a week !!!
I am feeling so happy with work, as I am not really interested in making a lot of money I am a dog walker and pet sitter as I love dogs love cats, love being my own boss making my own decisions, so I am very careful about which dogs I take on, this is because I need whoever joins us to gel with my other clients, as I am just a dog walker, I cant look after dogs with any issues, I am not qualified to sort that out, I walk socialised, happy doggies, with my puppy clients I am highly experienced to help with praise based training, socialising, bite inhibition and recall !!! A lot of my current dog walking clients began at Little Happy Hounds as puppies.
My ethos from day one has been to remain very ethical, very local , I am very aware that this is a unregulated industry and its going to attract dog walkers who out to make lots of money, which is fine, but that is something I actively avoid, I only network with dog walkers I personally think are doing this for the right reasons. When it comes to peoples pets , family members this is not a make as much money as you can kind of job, less is definitely more, I offer a very personalised, very caring service at all times.
For dog walking, puppy care and cat sitting, I only cover the village of Chinley ‘where I live’ we moved to Stubbins Lane back in the summer of 2019, I also cover Whaley Bridge where I use to live, I also cover Buxworth and Chapel-en-le-Frith, High Peak. This coming August 2021 I have been running Little Happy Hounds in this area for 9 years !!!
