Half Term week

So I am on holiday well I have taken this week off almost. I usually work half term February as I loose a few clients ‘ as they are teachers’ and working is manageable whilst everyone else off work. However due to the virus, and the extra cold weather, I needed a week to myself, its not easy and its especially not fun working , managing groups of dogs on walks, while everyones off  work and doodling about in slow-motion.

I thought this is the best week to take off to cause the least inconvenience to people, I have a elderly client so I am still walking her dog twice this week and as I took my new puppy client recently I am still doing that visit twice this week.  So mostly off.

I think after my last time off the Christmas break, work has changed considerably because of the virus, this time of year its all about bad weather and getting through it with the dogs, everything is more difficult from cleaning out the van daily, washing the dogs down after each walk,  as its so  muddy, waking up cold from being out in it the day before and then  having to go right back out in it, don’t get me wrong love my job just staying winter is harder work if your doing the proper walks.

So that is now coupled with people, lots and lots of people on my walks, saying hello and someone telling me their life story is one thing seeing two maybe three possibly four people all wanting to talk to you is incredibly draining I am a magnet for it. So yes this why I work with dogs, the other thing I wanted to escape by taking a week off was the driving , call it a lockdown as much as you like, the roads are rammed with people making unnecessary journeys in this area. I have seen with my own eyes. So

So yes this week dog walking is mostly cancelled,  bit of work, catching up with all my paper work, returning to work next week,  refreshed and recharged ready for the next few months of busier walks, as the weather is going mild and we are still in lockdown, leading up the easter break.

At the moment, I am not taking any new dog clients on or taking any cat sitting bookings for the time being , I think we need to all be in much more stable place when before I am wanting to commit to any cat gigs, I fully expect not to be taking a holiday this year where I go away nor does it bother as over 100’000 people in this country lost their lives due to this awful disease, so no cat sitting bookings till we get out of this lockdown and vaccination program has kicked in.  At the moment I have two doggies and a puppy, so until they are all settled in as a small business, I am full up !
