So today is Happy Monday ! I have just been on two one hour walks today, usually on a Monday I do three one hour walks so today was a quiet one for me. We took our Whaley Bridge dogs, my first walk which happens late morning, to Fernilee Reservoir and I then took my lunch time dogs up Lantern Pike. Two of my usual lunch time dogs have switched days temporarily too Wednesday, so my third walk on Monday with the very flexible Amy and Ruby were able to Join my lunch time dog Oscar on our Lunch time walk. Oscar is a cavapoo, Amy a German Shepherd and her sister Ruby is a kind of a mongrel rescue dog.
So our first walk was sister Bobbie and Bridie, Cockapoos I have looked after since they were 10 week old puppies, and Arthur a young Miniature schnauzer he is going to be one years old in October so still a puppy, Bobbei and Bridie have been little happy hound clients since 2014 and Arthur since January 2017. I prefer the wooded side of Fernilee, its quiet and the dogs spent a great deal of time off lead, chasing eaching other, we met a couple of friendly dogs, and it was a lovely walk., the leaves were slowly falling off the trees and it was feeling very autumnal indeed.
Then I went onto Lantern Pike, quite the hike up hill, it easy to get too with my New Mills and Hayfield clients, Amy is on the lead at the moment as she is getting over a minor leg injury, anyway lots of time off lead up Lantern Pike, you have too keep your eyes peeled and be on your guard as a lot of reactive dogs can sometimes frequent up there, we did not see a soul till we started coming down then we got yapped by a lot of tiny dogs with a lady. Thankfully all my lovely doggies were on leads. Result…. I am thinking even when my clients return to Mondays walks, Monday could very well be the day that we could fit new dog walking clients in.
