happy walks happy hounds….
The thing we love most about living in New Mills, is all the places to go walking, its an amazing
especially if you happen to have a dog. Places range from gradual flat walks like The Sett Valley Trail, Hague Bar Meadows, Mousley Bottom, and higher walks, like top of Laneside and over to Big Stone, along the Peak Forest Canal can take you to the Whaley Bridge, Todd Brook Reservoir and Taxal Edge or other towards Marple can also give you lots of options, walking to Black Rocks behind mudhurst Lane Higher Disley, or into Lyme Park.
In the actual town itself, we have the Torrs, a large park at the bottom of a gorge, with the Queens Bridge and Union Road Bridges crossing over it and the town itself high up on each side of cliff face, its also the place were The River Sett joins the River Goyt and they become one and travel towards Stockport.
