Glossop is very easy to get to from New Mills High Peak and from Marple Stockport with very little traffic. We also cover Romiley, High Lane, Mellor, Marple Bridge, Disley and Hazel Grove Stockport areas, Chapel- en- le- frith, Buxton, and Whaley Bridge
Glossop is also a good place for a dog walker to walk dogs, as well as Manor Park, Glossop also has hills, and is surrounded by countryside with a multitude of different paths and different terrains to choose from.
One of my favourite dog friendly walks near Glossop, with views of towards Dinting and over towards Hyde, is to park Just off Monks Road and walk up Cowan Edge.
From New Mills you drive towards Hayfield then down the A624 pass Little Hayfield then just before the Grouse Inn is a left which is Monks Road. Take the first left and there are several spaces to park around the side of the lane.
Several paths give you the option to go dog walking towards Rowarth (also a great place for dog friendly walks) but if you walk straight a head there a gate and a path which passes by Cowan Edge Farm.
You then follow a steep lane up and eventually you turn right at the very top of the lane, eventually the path will take you to Cowan Edge , a dramatic cliff side that was once a huge quarry with stunning views mostly to the left of Glossop also great views of Bleaklow.
Dog walking around Glossop is very good and varied as previously mentioned they have Manor Park for a more gentle dog walk, and from Old Glossop you can have a more challenging dog walk up to Bleaklow Mountain from the top of Shepley Street.
Glossop also have a Pets At Home for all your petcare needs with free parking.
