As a professional dog walker, dog walking in Marple Stockport has always been something I love. It’s a great place with lots of different routes for dog walking (or if you don’t have pets, just a nice walk for yourself)!
Marple is a small town at the very edges of the Stockport, near Derbyshire border. To the east it nears the town of Glossop and to its south is Disley, part of the borough of Macclesfield.
Today I am going to wrap up warm and take one of my favourite and most recommended dog walking routes in Marple. Parking in the centre of town I first walk around memorial park (we always see friendly dogs there), then along the canal and cross over station road (which needs a green man or zebra crossing bye the way) continuing up the canal for a few minutes before dropping into the woods.
You can go various routes around Brabyns Park at this moment though I prefer staying in the woods and eventually coming to the entrance that brings you onto Compstall road. If you want to extend the walk you can head down that road to Etherow Country Park and walk around the woods there as well.
Other options for dog walking in Marple are the Roman Lakes there are so many nice paths cutting up and down side of Mellor , across the golf course and up to the giant cross, we often walk from New Mills over to Strines, up to Brook Bottom and up to cross , crossing over Mellor golf course, its very wooded and scenic around there.
